Sunset Strip

The Sunset Strip is the name given to the mile and a half stretch of Sunset Blvd that passes through West Hollywood, as well as the exclusive enclave of homes located in the hills above Sunset Blvd.

Historically, the Strip lay outside the city of Los Angeles and in the 1920’s many casinos and nightclubs moved onto the Strip.  Glitz and glamour defined the Strip, much as it does today.  In the mid-60’s and 1970’s the Strip became a major gathering place for bands like The Doors, The Byrds, Love, The Seeds, Frank Zappa, Martha and the Vandellas, Metallica, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Guns N’ Roses, Poison and many others, playing at such venues as the Whisky a Go Go, Roxy, Pandora’s Box and the London Fog. 

Today the Strip embraces a premier collection of boutiques, restaurants, rock clubs and nightclubs, as well as being home to various creative companies.  Creative people from all over the city live and play here for its unique Hollywood vibe, dining and shopping. 

The neighborhood above Sunset Blvd is one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive, home to entertainment executive, media moguls and celebrities alike.
